West Central Manitoba?

Immigration Division of the Manitoba Department of Labour and Immigration in partnership with Rural Municipalities in the West Central Manitoba has agreed to an immigration initiative addressing this region’s urgent, short, and long-term labour needs demonstrated by employers. This immigration initiative is data driven and supported by the community. From hereafter, this program is referred to as “Pilot IMMIgreat Initiative or IMMIgreat.”
This initiative is a collaboration of eight (8) municipalities/communities in the west central region of Manitoba with the main objective to address local labour shortages, addressing Indigenous reconciliation, increase francophone/bilingual demographics, and proactively address business succession in the following rural municipalities of Manitoba:
- Municipality of Russell-Binscarth
- RM of Riding Mountain West
- Rural Municipality of Yellowhead
- Rossburn Municipality
- Municipality of Roblin
- Prairie View Municipality
- Rural Municipality of Ellice-Archie
- Gambler First Nation (Indigenous Community)
Community Profiles
Municipality Of Russell Binscarth

With a population of approximately 2,550 the municipality includes two urban communities and aformer rural municipality. Municipality of Russell Binscarth is a polyglot in western Manitoba andserves a trading area of approximately 16,000 people – drawing them in to shop, recreate, and enjoythe natural surroundings. Located along the western edge of Manitoba, along Highway 16 andSaskatchewan border, our picturesque landscape is a mosaic of hills and valleys, rivers and lakes,wooded areas, and grain fields. Agriculture remains the economic driver, home to both grain andlivestock production. Two inland grain terminals, a canola crushing plant, and numerous implementdealers are located within the municipality.
Municipality Of Roblin

The Municipality of Roblin is home to a population of 3,089 residents, and a trading area of approximately 15,000 people. Situated at the western gateway to Manitoba's Parkland region and an hours drive from 3 larger urban centres. The community welcomes new residents seeking a relaxed lifestyle in a rural setting. RM of Riding Mountain West

Located in the Province of Manitoba, the R.M. of Riding Mountain West incorporated on January 1st, 2015 via the amalgamation of the R.M. of Shellmouth-Boulton and the R.M. of Silver Creek. The R.M. of Riding Mountain West consists of 3 wards with 2 Councillors per ward and 1 Reeve at large.
Rossburn Municipality

The Rossburn Municipality, and with it the townsite of Rossburn, the Rossman Lake Resort and Sunset Point development, is located in the Parkland Region, Manitoba. Nestled amongst rolling hills and agricultural land, Rossburn is a small town in a rural setting with a population of around 1000 residents.

Rural Municipality Of Yellowhead

The Rural Municipality of Yellowhead is a rural municipality in Manitoba that incorporated on January 1, 2015, via the amalgamation of the Municipality of Shoal Lake and the RM of Strathclair.
Prairie View Municipality

Prairie View Municipality is a thriving region in the prairies of south western Manitoba with an approximate population of 2167. Our large municipality covers approx. 648 sq. miles. This newly amalgamated municipality is made up of the communities of Arrow River, Beulah, Birtle, Crandall, Foxwarren, Isabella, Miniota and Solsgirth. It is situated amongst the beautiful Birdtail and Assiniboine Valley regions and has an array of recreational and work opportunities, as well as all the necessary amenities for a family to enjoy. The uniqueness, natural beauty and safety of our region makes Prairie View an attractive place to live.
Gambler First Nations

Situated along the Assiniboine Valley, with rolling hills and streams. Our Nation is blessed with breathtaking views, fresh air and a peaceful environment that brings a calmness to our members and all visitors. Our community offers a fully staffed Health Office with an-.8 nurse, foot care, diabetes clinic, etc. The recreation center is equipped with a state-of-the art kitchen, It also houses offices for our Council, Social Assistant Administrator, Housing Director and our Jordan Principle program and staff.
Rural Municipality of Ellice-Archie

The RM of Ellice-Archie is located on the border of Manitoba and Saskatchewan, 300 km west of Winnipeg. The small villages of McAuley and St. Lazare are the hubs of the RM, which also includes the hamlet of Manson. The RM of Ellice-Archie is home to 971 people.
