As Cashier Clerk Deli you have at least one year experience of retail business experience and working with people OR you can present an excellent track record of strong interpersonal skills and work experience that can transfer to the Food sales and service team. Prior computer experience and possession of secondary education is preferred.

CORE FUNCTION:

To actively promote and provide “You’re At Home Here” service to members and customers within the Food Division, completing sales transactions with the POS system (cash, debit, credit, app, coupons etc).

RESPONSIBILITIES

• To organize, implement and prioritize work activities; on a continuous basis,
• To know and understand inventory priorities and observe safety rules;
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of a work day; communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
• To actively approach customers in a friendly and helpful manner, offering help and service as may be required and to actively promote and sell the merchandise handled.
• To become familiar with all lines of merchandise handled in the food store and to constantly maintain a high level of product knowledge
• Promote sales in grocery, meat, fresh, bakery and deli
• To unpack, check, rotate and otherwise prepare merchandise for sale
• To perform general housekeeping duties on the sales floor, till or in the warehouse
• To maintain a constant alert against the unauthorized removal of merchandise
• To perform other duties as assigned
